ICT 2013: Mission accomplished!

ICT 2013 is Europe’s biggest digital technology and innovation event.

More than 5000 researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, young people and politicians were in Lithuania’s capital city for the curtain raiser for ICT and digital research in Horizon 2020.  H2020 is the EU’s multi-billion euro funding programme for Research and Innovation for 2014-2020. ICT 2013 is organised by the European Commission in partnership with the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2013. Speakers from across the ICT sector addressed a range of issues from cloud computing, broadband, ICT infrastructures, ICT skills, cyber security, long-term visions on the future and much more.  Highlights included an exhibition of 260 showcases of Europe’s most innovative projects and activities, 85 world-class speakers at high-level conferences including Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė; Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves; Mikael Hed (CEO of Rovio) Professor Artur Ekert (one of the inventors of quantum cryptography) and Eben Upton (Raspberry Pi Foundation).  It also included - Digital Futures: imagining life and digital technologies in 2050; Investors Forum: Meet the start-ups and SMEs with bright ideas; A Hackathon involving 300 people; and multiple networking and workshop sessions.


ARUM was there with the mission to ensure that Manufacturing Never Dies!

Not only did ARUM secret agents manage to accomplish this mission, they also won the Best Exhibit Award "Industry and Business for Tomorrow"!
